Travel the Globe on World Thinking Day

Travel around the globe without a passport at the annual World Thinking Day on Feb. 23 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center. World Thinking Day highlights international friendships and reminds everyone that we are part of a global community.

The event is in partnership with local Girl Scouts from the Apalachee Service Unit. Each participating Girl Scout troop adopts a specific country to share information, provide a taste of the country’s cuisine and makes a “swap” that is reflective of the culture. With more than 25 troops planning to attend, visitors can experience the cultures and learn about countries such as Thailand, South Africa, Switzerland, Columbia, Australia, Liechtenstein, Spain and more.

The event is organized by the Girl Scouts but is open to the public. Admission is $2 per person for Gwinnett residents and $4 per person for non-residents. The Girl Scouts will charge 10 cents per beverage, food item or swap in addition to the entry fee. The Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center is located at 2020 Clean Water Drive in Buford.  For additional information about this event, please call 678.765.4664.
